‘We had seen some of Phil’s work at one of his ‘Open Studio’ events and thought that his imagination and use of colour would fit well with our desire to find some suitable artwork to animate a barn conversion we were completing.
After an initial chat with Phil, he visited the site and we had a very engaging discussion about size, scale and colour combinations that would suit the space. We were looking for something big (approx 2.0 m x 1.5 m).
We loved Phil’s enthusiastic response to our enquiry and he very quickly produced a smaller piece so we could see how the concept and colours would work in practice. Once agreed, Phil went on to produce a magnificent full size version which now hangs as the centrepiece in the main living space of the barn.
We are delighted with the result which attracts universally positive comments from all who see it. We have since added another of Phil’s pieces to the landing area, and I am sure more will follow.’
