In March 2024 we were walking with friends, with a clear bright late afternoon light playing over the London suburb of Lewisham near Blythe Hill Fields. To the north the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf were beautifully lit.
This painting is my most detailed yet, hence the higher than normal price. I think this is a quintessentially English scene, with the suburbs in the foreground, trees and church in the mid-distance , and skyscrapers in the distance. Even the sky is the normal blue for an English sky.
The artwork is very detailed, especially in the foreground. This painting needs to find a wall where it can be enjoyed at close distance as well as from farther away. It is ready to hang.
