Festival for Ukraine’ is a colourful and energetic abstract. It celebrates the bravery of the Ukrainian people. It was completed a few days before the first year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The blue and yellow flag of Ukraine is visible in several places, but the crowd is completely abstracted. The white paint was added at the end using flicks from a container with a small nozzle. The other acrylic paint was added using palette knives and brushes.
It is an energetic piece which would be a talking point in any room. It would really suit a modern home or apartment, but also looks great in our Victorian home. The canvas is stretched over an internal wooden frame. it is ready to hang.
Festival for Ukraine sold to a collector in the UK in March 2023. If you like you can commission me to paint a similar scene. It will of course not be identical.
