Aftermath

This abstract was painted in mid June 2020. The painting’s title “Aftermath” reflects the feeling of something that has passed, but you are not sure if it will come back. It is based on some previous paintings showing a white path and the overall feeling is optimistic. The brown and copper uppermost paint layer was removed whilst wet using a silicon-tipped brush and rapid horizontal and vertical lines. The resultant shapes reminds me of buildings, which, as we had all been so confined recently, seemed appropriate.
