Beach at Downderry, Cornwall

Cornwall has the most fantastic coastal scenery, amongst the very best in the UK. This painting is based on a photograph that I took on a stormy day, when most of the sea appeared white. This is a large dynamic abstract that would look great in a variety of settings, from an old house to a modern apartment. It is an impressionistic view of the beach at Downderry in Cornwall, UK, where our daughter and her family live. It is full of life and is very vibrant, with hints of Van Gogh and Monet brushwork. Some copper paint details were added at the end using a small palette knife. It is ready to hang.
