This painting has had many iterations and only resolved itself when I painted over it and then revealed areas of detail below which to me look exquisite. When finished the title jumped out. After spending thousands of hours looking down at invertebrates and other aquatic species maybe this is what Life on Mars would look like, lots of metallic shiny colours and blue pigments instead of the more familiar green pigments in plants on earth. It is a painting that deserves close attention to the details, so would look best somewhere where the viewer can get up close. It is ready to hang.
Life on Mars is no longer available and would be difficult for me to replicate.
